Pokemon

 Hi everyone,

Master E turned 6 this week. He is obsessed with Pokemon.  His mum and I have several Pokemon games on our phones.  I only learnt recently that the games use the maps on our phones.  Depending on the different locations, there are different pokemon figures to battle.  I hope this makes sense.

Also in Melbourne, Australia, our supermarket chain, Coles, are giving away cardboard builders for the kids, depending how much you spend. Our grandkids love them.

Well, I couldn’t make must any card, now could I choose a card from my stash.  This one was a one off card.  So I headed to Pintrest.  Bingo!!! craftwithemma.com.uk had a video for the Pokerball and i structions on how to make Pickachu.  These are found below.

https://craftwithemma.co.uk/uncategorized/pokemon-go-gotta-craft-em-all/

Here is the crd that I came up with and the inside.  I am very proud of this card.  Master E and the rest of our family are impressed as well.

Miss J turns 6 in a couple of days.  Can I come up with something equally impressive. 🤔🤔🤔

Have you used Stampin Up products before. One of the reasons that I became a demonstrator/hobbyist was because I love the colour combos.  Stampin Up provides cardstock, ribbon, stamp pad, and matching designer series paper and sometimes matching glitz to enhance the cards.  If you are a bit pedantic with colour combinations Stampin Up is your friend. They certainly have my vote.

The current Annual Catalogue is available on this blog.

If you live in Australia and you would like to place an order over $250-00 (before shipping) you will

receive 10% in Stampin Up Rewards.  Or if you would like to place a smaller order please email me on leanne1982@netspace.net.au.

Gingerbread House

 Hi everyone,

What type of traditions do you have in your family during Christmas.

I have been making Gingerbread Houses since our daughter was 3 years old.  Carren is now over 40.  Early in those years our kids and cousins loved coming for the decorating of the gingerbread house.  It was never a perfect thing.  It was always about the children getting together and seeing what eventuated.

As our kids got older we had to fine younger ones and let them have the experience.  There were always kids around who want to have a go.  Now we have grandchildren who also love the experience.

The last couple of years our family have gone away around Christmas.  Last year we spent Christmas Day away and came home Boxing Day.  The gingerbread House went with us.

However this year Nana LEFT IT AT HOME.  Shock, horror!!  We left for our holiday Christmas Eve and I left the Gingerbread Home.  It did not go down well.  No Gingerbread House to decorate or smash on Christmas Day.  Everyone was not happy.

The grandkids came just after News Year Day.  They decorated it in the morning.  We had lunch together and they smash it in the afternoon.  Below are some photos.  I’m not sure they are in order.

Above is our son, Kerry.  Yes he has been a part of this tradition for many, many years.  This is how interested he was in it this year.  Oh well.   His boys loved it again.

Level Complete

 Hi everyone,

We had a grandson who turned 10 this week.

When I saw this stamp set, which is called Level Complete, I knew someone who would love to receive it.  Master T loves playing on this game, which they have at home.  I don’t know what it is called but I know the kids have a great time with it.

Level Complete Stamp Set is found in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 93.

I am sure that this stamp will be used often in our house. Master T’s grin when he received it was reward enough.

Fun On Wheels

 Hi everyone,

We have a grandson who loves running, scooting and climbing outside. We have our grandsons after school twice a week.  They come to our place after school, and raid our drumsticks in the freezer. Most of the time I also have donuts here.  When they fill up on sugar and watched tv until 5:00pm, they go home  and we wait for Mum or Dad to come home.  If it is not raining or dark, Nate will always ask to get his scooter out and then they run away the court.

I saw in this stamp set in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 90 and just knew that I had to purchase this.

Master T

Hi everyone,

One of our grandchildren asked recently if he could make a card.  i had been invited to a school friend's party.   Master T knew that his friend like frogs and Maths.  So out came a retired stamp set called So Hopping Together and I found = and + stamps on another stamp set.

What do you think?  I just love it when the kids ask to make a card.

 Here is Master T.

Everyday Hero

Hi everyone,

Our two little grandchildren turn 4 this week.  Mr E was 4 on Sunday and Miss J turns 4 tomorrow.  Miss J ‘s mum joined me today and made some cards.  She realised that she did not have one for her daughter.

Both the birthday children are mad on PJ Mask.  For those that don’t know this show, it is on Netflix.  Three young children turn into Cat-boy, (blue), Gecko, (green), and Owlet, (red), during the night and save the day.

This is mum’s version of Owlet.  Sorry everyone, all these products are retired. Sometime with a little bit of help from one another, we can look outside the box and create something with a bit of this and a bit of that.

I wish that we stamped together sooner.  Mr E would love this card too.  I gave him a turtle card.  He loved that too.

Hats Off

Hi everyone,

We had a birthday boy turning 10 this week.  Wow double digits.  Master N loves his caps.  He has being wearing an Essendon one, (black and red), for years.  Just before his birthday I asked his mum if I could buy a new one.  His was certainly well loved. Someone else had already thought of that.  So he received a new one for his birthday.

Well I bought this new stamp and Dies.  There is the dies Hat Builder and Stamp Set is called Hats off.  This set can be found in the Annual Catalogue page 159 ©2021 Stampin' Up!®  The two items can be purchased as a Bundle with 10% off.

I made Master Nate’s card with the book binder card.  Something different and really easy to make.  The second card was made with reversed colours, only because I could.

This one below has a different story.  I skyped Mum on Saturday.  We quite often skped and make cards together.  Mum actually talked while she watched the football.   Anyway when I showed the Mum some new Beauty of the Earth Designer Series  Paper.  She suggested making a hat out of one sheet.  She thought it looked like Army fabric.

Whale of a Time Suite

Hi everyone,

Our grandson turned 7 recently. I have been Stampin Up Hobbyist for a couple of years now.  So as I’m thinking about his card, I think, “what do I do.”  He loves dinosaurs, Captain America and all his super hero mates.  He loves his LEGO. He, his older brother and dad have so much lego.  Some of it came from our place when his dad used it.

Anyway, back to the card, “what do I do.”  I have made the current dinosaur and retired one. I have also used the super heroes card in the past.  I did not even have this Whale of a Time Suite.  I knew that I was going to purchase it.  It was on the list.  I bit the bullet and ordered this.  Even though I knew it would be great, it was not until I had the suite in my hot little hands that I loved it.

This Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper is fantastic.  As I opened the pack up, the vibrant colours  of the paper said, “make me, make me”.  So the first one below is Master T’s 7th birthday card.  His birthday happened during our lock down here in Melbourne.  So I did not see Master T’s reaction to his card.  However, I heard that he and his family love the board games that we bought him.  Master T’s mum (daughter-in-law) loved the card.

These cards below were made at the same time.  I just needed to play with them.  I send cards to our church family for their birthdays.  So cards that can be used for a child, particularly a boy, is always handy for my supply. However, these could also be used for anyone who loves fishing as well, or someone who just likes bright cards.  This paper reminds me of the the book The Rainbow Fish.  This is a story that I used to read to my children when they were small.

These cards were created using the Whale of a Time suite. This suite can be found in the Annual Catalogue on Page 94 ©2020 Stampin' Up!®.  It consists of The Whale Done Bundle or Whale Done Stamp Set and Whale Builder Punch, Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, one roll of Pool Party Ribbon and sequins to match.  On page 95, you will also find the coloured card stock that will match the paper.

However, I love looking outside the box a little and selecting different colours.  These cards have been created using  Blueberry Bushel, Mango Melody, Dapper Denim, Slate Grey, Basic Gray and Cinnamon Cider.

I Spy for No 2 Grandson

Hi everyone,

Something different today.  When our first grandson was born, our daughter-in-law‘s mother wanted to make his baby quilt.  I had just resumed working again.  My comment was, he will obtain many quilts over the years, we don’t need to fight over the first.

However I did want to make a quilt for him so I made an I Spy quilt that he could use at our place. In those days our second bedroom had our son’s queen size bed in it. So now we also use that I Spy quilt on our bed.

That bedroom has change and currently holds two single beds. So this one is a single bed quilt.

I started this one a year or two earlier. Grandson No 2 was a little younger and he loved Thomas The Tank, Paw Patrol, Cars, only to name a few. In two or three years his taste has changed.  So I don’t think this quilt is revered has much as previous quilts are.  He has one made with dinosaurs all over it, at home, oh well I cant get it right every time.

I am confined to the house at moment.  I love his quilt and using it daily.  It has a polar fleece back so very warm on a cold day.

I hope you like something different today.

Mr T turns 5

Hi,

‘You can call me Birthday Boy today.’  Someone is not excited, are they.

We have a birthday lunch at our place for every birthday.  We usually ask what they would like for lunch. Mr T asked for party food: popcorn, little sausages, party pies, sausages rolls and, of course, fairy bread.

For those who are not Australian, this is typical birthday party food. Even when Australian are adults, this food brings back fond memories of their childhood parties.

This is Mr T.  Such a funny, adorable and likeable little chap.

This is the card that I made him.  I used Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White Cardstock, Pick A Patten Designer Series Paper and the Number of Years sentiment with Large Number Framelits.

I hope you like it too.

Some of the above products are retired.  However the cardstock can be purchased if you go to 'Placing an Order' at the top of the page or clicking in the next paragraph.  If an order is placed for more than $250-00 (before shipping) you will receive 10% in Stampin Up Rewards.

Mr 7

Master 7 asked to make a card yesterday afternoon whilst he was here.  He selected his colours which were rose red, garden green, turquoise blue, perfect plum and daffodil delight. He selected the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and Amazing You Stamp Set.  His creation was stamped on Whisper White Cardstock and place on Fresh Fig Cardstock.  He was very adamant and decisive when making his selection.

Master 7 thoroughly enjoyed creating this card and successfully stalled the moment that he left at Nana and Pop’s.

Master 7 intended to give his card to his teacher, Miss T.

These products can be purchased if you go to 'Placing an Order' at the top of the page.  If an order is placed for more than
$250-00 (before shipping) you will receive 10% in Stampin Up Rewards.

Or you can place an order by emailing me on
