FatherDay

Hi everyone,

Happy Father’s Day is nearly upon us.

Each year I make Mother’s Day and Father’s Day card for our grandsons’s school.  They have a stall where the school kids can buy something for their mum or day.

Anyway, Father’s Day is nearly here.  Below, as you can see, I have just thrown the cards on the floor.  You can see some of the 60 cards that were given to the school.

Have you used Stampin Up products before. One of the reasons that I became a demonstrator/hobbyist was because I love the colour combos.  Stampin Up provides cardstock, ribbon, stamp pad, and matching designer series paper and sometimes matching glitz to enhance the cards.  If you are a bit pedantic with colour combinations Stampin Up is your friend. They certainly have my vote.

The current Annual Catalogue is available on this blog.

If you live in Australia and you would like to place an order over $250-00 (before shipping) you will

receive 10% in Stampin Up Rewards.  Or if you would like to place a smaller order please email me on leanne1982@netspace.net.au.

If you would like the current brochure, please email me on leanne1982@netspace.net.au.

If you like this blog, and like learning a little about our family traditions or our lives while I inform you about the makings of the cards or quilts that I make, can you indicate by following me, (on the right hand side).

Trusty Tools

 Hi everyone,

Here is another card using free designer series paper   This month is the second month of Sale-a-bration.   If you purchase items to the value of $90 or more you can choose an item from the Sale-a-bration Catalogue.  If you purchase $180  worth of items or more you can choose from another group of items.

This is a book binder card.  I just love this fun fold card.  It was created using the Trusty Tools Bundle which includes the Trusty Tools Stamps and Trusty Tools Dies.  These can be found in the January to April Catalogue ©2024 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 56.  I also used the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper which is available if you purchase $90 or more. There is a tape measure and the tools on this card were fussy cut out from the designer series paper.  You could purchase the Trusty Tool Bundle for $96.25 and the designer series paper is free.  Something worth while thinking about.

Beside Me

Hi everyone,

Here is another stamp from a freebie set. If you purchase $90 here in Australia, this is free until the end of February. However it is also in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 89, if you miss out.
This stamp set is called Beside Me.

This one creates memories on many levels.  I don’t remember Mum or Dad helping me when I was learning to ride a bike.  That was many, many years ago. However I am sure they did.  However I remember my husband and I holding the backs of bikes when our kids were learning to ride bikes.  In those days there were not training wheels to help the rider.   I can also remember watching our son and daughter while teaching their kids to ride.  However today there are training wheels and balance bikes now.

While creating this card I used Copper Clay card stock, matching designer series paper and a variety of Blenders.

Beside Me

Hi everyone,

Here is another freebie.  If you purchase $90 here in Australia, this is free until the end of February. However it is also in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 89, if you miss out.

This stamp set is called Beside Me.  This particular stamp reminds me of our many fishing expeditions while visiting Port Lincoln SA, during our Christmas holidays as a child.  I remember my two brothers and I would sit on the jetty fishing.  I don’t know that we caught much fish but they are good memories.

I thought I used a current DSP however it seems that it is now retired. However it is Starry Sky In Colour from last year.  I used Blenders, Lemon Lolly, Granny Apply Green, Starry Sky, Pool Party, and Pecan Pie,

Rock Star

Hi everyone,

The Rock Star Bundle is a great combination for people who are musical or people are dreaming about being musical. I will use it when I make Father’s Day cards for our grandchildren’s school.

We have several musical people in our family, so this stamp and dies will always be handy.

This set is found in the January to April Catalogue ©2024 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 55.  I have used retired designer series paper on this card.  However you can use any designer series paper in any colour.  The sky is the limit.

Deckled Rectangles

Hi everyone,

Here is an easy card.  Do you have Deckled Rectangles in your collection of stamp and dies.  These dies will be something that you use regularly.  You can find them in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on Page 163.

I have made several cards using current and retired designer series paper.  Sometimes I have reversed the the outer layer, other times I have used the same aide. This card is a good way of using designer series paper.

Scrappy Cards

 Hi everyone,

Sometime I just need to delve into old designer paper and old stamp sets.  Similar to most card makers, I have a stack of old designer papers that seem to multiply when they doesn’t get used.

Well, I found TXStampin’ Sharon’s Mystery Monday Stampers on Facebook.  It seems that most Mondays, Sharon releases a mystery card with measurements and a video.

I’m a bit of a chicken when it comes to a mystery.  I like to wait until the card or quilt starts appearing before attempting it.  Once again that is what happened. I joined Sharon’s group on Facebook and started seeing similar cards to those below.

Mum is here at the moment. We enjoy attempting something new, so we have been busy making some of these cards.

Father’s Day Cards

Hi everyone,

I have been missing in action again lately.  However I have been busy.  In Australia, we have Father’s Day coming up the first Sunday in September.  Mum and I made over 100 cards to give to our grandchildren’s schools for their stalls. 50 for one school and 50 for the other.  Creating these cards uses old designer series paper and a donation to the schools.

Nothing’s Better Than

Hi everyone,

Do you or your friends like coffee, cocktails or chocolate?  This is the card for you.  I have a daughter and daughter-in-law who love chocolate. I also have a son and a son-in-law who love coffee.  I can see this bundle will be popular in our house.  Or it will be when the girls and I can sit around the table and stamp together again.

I created this card using the Nothing Better Than Bundle which consists of Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set and Love You More Than Dies which can be found in the Annual Catalogue on page  91 and 176, ©2020 Stampin' Up!®.  I used Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip and Whisper white card stock. I also coloured the cup in with Bermuda Bay Stampin Blends and Bronze Stampin Blends.

Father’s Day

Hi everyone,

It was Father’s Day in Australia last weekend. Several weeks ago, N and T enjoyed making their daddy a Father’s Day card each. Our son is a music teacher, and plays a guitar.  He is also becoming a handy man around the house, hence the hammer and guitar.

Today I leave for a cruise around the Baltic countries around Northern Europe. I am going with friends, E and G. We are meeting our daughter’s in-laws on the ship.  So there will be a party of five.  My husband, Dave, does not like travelling outside Australia so Dave and our dog, Dash, are staying home together.

Today G, E and I fly to London and spend two nights there before boarding the Sapphire Princess for a cruise around the Baltic Countries.  We are visiting Bruges, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Helsinki, Gdansk and back to London.  E and G are going onto Italy.  So I am staying in Rome for two night before flying home.

I hope you enjoyed reading today's blog.
Blessings.
