Hi everyone,
What type of traditions do you have in your family during Christmas.I have been making Gingerbread Houses since our daughter was 3 years old. Carren is now over 40. Early in those years our kids and cousins loved coming for the decorating of the gingerbread house. It was never a perfect thing. It was always about the children getting together and seeing what eventuated.
As our kids got older we had to fine younger ones and let them have the experience. There were always kids around who want to have a go. Now we have grandchildren who also love the experience.
The last couple of years our family have gone away around Christmas. Last year we spent Christmas Day away and came home Boxing Day. The gingerbread House went with us.
However this year Nana LEFT IT AT HOME. Shock, horror!! We left for our holiday Christmas Eve and I left the Gingerbread Home. It did not go down well. No Gingerbread House to decorate or smash on Christmas Day. Everyone was not happy.
The grandkids came just after News Year Day. They decorated it in the morning. We had lunch together and they smash it in the afternoon. Below are some photos. I’m not sure they are in order.
