Hi everyone,
Our grandson turned 7 recently. I have been Stampin Up Hobbyist for a couple of years now. So as I’m thinking about his card, I think, “what do I do.” He loves dinosaurs, Captain America and all his super hero mates. He loves his LEGO. He, his older brother and dad have so much lego. Some of it came from our place when his dad used it.
Anyway, back to the card, “what do I do.” I have made the current dinosaur and retired one. I have also used the super heroes card in the past. I did not even have this Whale of a Time Suite. I knew that I was going to purchase it. It was on the list. I bit the bullet and ordered this. Even though I knew it would be great, it was not until I had the suite in my hot little hands that I loved it.
This Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper is fantastic. As I opened the pack up, the vibrant colours of the paper said, “make me, make me”. So the first one below is Master T’s 7th birthday card. His birthday happened during our lock down here in Melbourne. So I did not see Master T’s reaction to his card. However, I heard that he and his family love the board games that we bought him. Master T’s mum (daughter-in-law) loved the card.
These cards below were made at the same time. I just needed to play with them. I send cards to our church family for their birthdays. So cards that can be used for a child, particularly a boy, is always handy for my supply. However, these could also be used for anyone who loves fishing as well, or someone who just likes bright cards. This paper reminds me of the the book The Rainbow Fish. This is a story that I used to read to my children when they were small.
These cards were created using the Whale of a Time suite. This suite can be found in the Annual Catalogue on Page 94 ©2020 Stampin' Up!®. It consists of The Whale Done Bundle or Whale Done Stamp Set and Whale Builder Punch, Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, one roll of Pool Party Ribbon and sequins to match. On page 95, you will also find the coloured card stock that will match the paper.
However, I love looking outside the box a little and selecting different colours. These cards have been created using Blueberry Bushel, Mango Melody, Dapper Denim, Slate Grey, Basic Gray and Cinnamon Cider.
Have you used Stampin Up products before. One of the reasons that I became a hobbyist was because I love the colour combos. Stampin Up provides cardstock, ribbon, stamp pad, and matching designer series paper and sometimes matching glitz to enhance the cards. If you are a bit pedantic with colour combinations Stampin Up is your friend. They certainly have my vote.
The current Annual Catalogue is available on this blog. If you would like a Catalogue posted to you, it will cost $9-00. That can be deducted from the next order.
If you live in Australia and you would like to place an order over $250-00 (before shipping) you will receive 10% in Stampin Up Rewards. Click here to place your order.
