I have been in a ‘chop it’ mood lately. Some time go I watched Kylie Bertucci’s video. #loveitchopit# is a different concept of cutting designer series paper that with enable me to use on the cards. Whilst Kylie has templates for each size cut, I use my own sizes. Kylie’s concept is really great. ‘Whilst I keeping buying these lovely new sheets of Designer Series Paper, I haven’t used them. It is about running out of them, I think. Anyway I have started’. This previous quote was from the first time I blogged about Kylie and her concept for designer series paper.
I am still chopping these beautiful papers. I have realised that they can be beautiful cards too where lots of people can appreciate them, and know that they are thought about and loved in some small way.
When I receive 12” x 12” designer paper I cut into 6” x 4” card tops. These are placed in ziplock bags with the matching cardstock written on a sheet. I find that if I cut them into 6” x 6” sheets, eventually they will be cut further into a 4” x 6” and 2” x 6” and the narrow strip is a difficult size to use.
Pintrest shares many different suggestions. As I became more experienced, I felt more confident trying different sets. I am sure that will happen to you, if you give yourself the chance.
Here is another combination of cards.
My card tops are 3 7/8” x 5 5/8”.
I commenced this but collecting three different tops that go together . I marked Left bottom - mark 3/4”, and Right side - 1 1/2”. I grab the top and and just cut in half. These measurements do not have to be exact. It is about just cutting a top in three pieces. After the cutting you take the top right piece and place it under the last one. This changes the top layer and they are all different. Or you could spread them out and place 3 lots together to create each top.
Have you used Stampin Up products before. One of the reasons that I became a demonstrator/hobbyist was because I love the colour combos. Stampin Up provides cardstock, ribbon, stamp pad, and matching designer series paper and sometimes matching glitz to enhance the cards. If you are a bit pedantic with colour combinations Stampin Up is your friend. They certainly have my vote.

My card tops are 4 1/8” x 5 7/8”.
I selected 4 different designer series paper card tops. I cut them down to 3 5/8” x 5 3/8”. I placed them on top of one another and cut 1” lengthwise, and cut the the wide piece at 3”. Then mix and match the four lots of pieces. Change the cardstock and create quite different cards. There is a little strip that I place on the inside of the card as well. Not much is wasted.

Life has been busy lately. Friday or Saturday have been my own free days off during the last couple of weeks.
Now that I have the Lounge room set up as a craft room, I can sit in there and continue to create havoc on the table with more card stock, stamps etc. I try to clean up after each day of creativeness. However, that doesn’t always happen.
Kylie Bertucci, a Stampin Up Demonstrator, created the hashtag #loveitchopit#. Below is her video showing you how to chop your beautiful designer series paper. She suggests using the paper and sharing those cards with others. I love the idea.
Several weeks ago I picked the Playing With Patterns Designer Paper Series. #loveitchopit# is a great way of using retired designer series paper.

In our current times of isolation sending a card reminds the recipient that they are still be remembered. They will remember that they still are remembered by the sender each time they see the card. Cards are a lovely reminder of love or friendship between two people.
Today's card is very easy and still very beautiful. This beautiful Designer Series Paper is only available until the end of this month.
This
items can currently be purchased. However a new Annual Catalogue will
be available early June. So don't wait long, or these items will
disappear.
I hope you like this.

At the beginning of our isolation for the pandemic, I sent cards to all my customers and class attendees and included some retired designer series paper. I posted something about these several weeks ago.
Well everyone is using the Retired Designer Series Paper that I gave them. The cards keep coming in. Here are some more.
I hope you like looking at these cards. It is really great to see everyone's interpretation of the paper they received. During this isolation everyone needs encouragement. Photos of these cards helped me.
The pressure is off. I have been busy at the sewing machine. I will be able to share the items after they are gifted. However, I now have some time to blog a bit. I still have a little sewing left and have a little time to complete these items now. Enough ramblings. Below are several cards I completed several weeks ago. I found that I was very short on male cards. I post approximately 20 cards a month to family, friends and church members. I also give cards to people I work with. When I play with cards, I usually make several at a time.
These cards were created using Whisper White and Blueberry Bliss Card stock and See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper. The sentiment came from Happy Birthday Gorgeous, a retired stamp.
I hope you like these.

These are some of the Christmas cards that I created for the recent Christmas. I made over 100 cards. Most of them were sent out. Some were posted to people at the church and others were for family. I thought I might have had some left. Guess what? There is only a handful left. So I need to replenish my stock on the next 12 months. That is okay. I still have Christmas designer series paper left.
While I bought all this beautiful paper, I didn't want to use it. If I used it, I would have nothing left. Silly concept, I know. That is how I thought. Anyway, a fellow Stampin up Demonstrator gave me the permission to actually use the paper, and showed me how to cut it so that it won't be wasted.
I hope you like the cards that I created.

I watched Kylie Bertucci’s video. #loveitchopit# is a new way of cutting designer series paper to use on the cards. Whilst Kylie has templates for each size cut, I use my own sizes. Kylie’s concept is really great. Whilst I keeping buying these lovely new sheets of Designer Series Paper, I haven’t used them. It is about running out of them, I think. Anyway I have started. Below are some of the earlier beginnings of cards.
My 90 year old mum has visited, from interstate, during the last couple of weeks. She also loves cards. So most nights we have made new cards. We started by Mum asking me to show her a new technique. Below is that technique. I made mine slightly different. I stamped my man and chair straight onto the card and used a stickit note to cover the stamp while stamping the sand and sea. Mum stamped her man and seat on another sheet of cardstock and fussy cut it, raising that section on the card. The next night she made one like mine.
These are only an example of our cards. Mum and I would make slightly different cards, one for mum and one for me. We had a lovely fortnight creating cards together. Mum has also gone home with some new cards, that she can brag about at several groups that she attends.
