Stargazing Suite

 Hi everyone,

Sometimes when you pick up a new catalogue, you see something that you just need to buy.  This is one of those times.  We have three grandboys , a son and son-in-law.  They all love superheroes and Star Wars. Our son-in-law particularly is mad about Star Wars.  Recently our daughter, my Mum and I had a day of creating cards.   We made this one.  However, I was given strict instructions to leave this out of the blog until John’s birthday.  His birthday has now gone.  Now you get to see it.  

This Stargazing Suite just gets better and better.  This suite can be found in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 86 and 87.

Friendship Royalty

Hi everyone, 

Do you have a princess in your house.   We have a little 5 year old who is just starting to wear princess dress ups, and use crowns and wands.  She is even asking her mum for a Barbie.  Up until now she hasn’t been interested in these girlie things. It is amazing how going to school and hearings class mates talk about their favourite things. 

Friendship Royalty is a new stamp set in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on Page 56.  I embossed white onto the red cardstock.  It has a little pizazz.

It’s A Science

Hi everyone, 

It’s A Science Stamp Set has come out to play again.  I just love this set.  We have a little 5 year old who loves watching science experiments and cake decorating on Youtube.  I wonder whether she will follow in Nana’s footsteps by creating wedding cakes and birthday cakes as a young adult, or will she study a science degree in university.

It’s A Science Stamp Set is found in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 80.  At the moment I have used thusthis card for our little 5 year old.  However we have a 12 year old starting high school next year, who might start experimenting in science.  This stamp will always be handy, I think. 

I created this card using a fun fold called Z fold. 

Cut cardstock at 4 1/4” x 11”.  Score at 5 1/2” and 8 1/4”.

Cut  cardstock 1 1/4” x 11”. Score at 5 1/2” and 8 1/4”.

Cut Designer Series Paper 2 1/2” x 3 7/8”, 5 1/4” x 3 7/8”, 2 1/2” x 1” and 5 1/4” x 1”

Cut White cardstock 5 1/4” x 1” and 2 1/2” x 1”.

It’s A Science

This card brings back memories of my science classes in High School.  All of those bubbles that overflowed.  It also reminds me of the Portion Class in Harry Potter.  Anyway, it is a stamp set that I just needed to buy.  It will get used many times in this house.

Construction Zone

 Hi everyone, 

It is always great to have a couple of male or little kids cards on hand. After all, we have three grandsons.  This Construction Zone Stamp Set fits the bill.  Mum and I had a great time plying with this set.  Below is one the cards that was inspired by Pinterest.

Stargazing Suite

 Hi everyone, 

Sometimes I puck up a new catalogue and see something that I just need to buy.  Well this stamp was a must for me.  With a son son-in-law and three grandsons this set is a must.  However I bought ti a couple of months ago.   It seemed a bit daunting to being out. Well we brought it out. 

This suite is called Stargazing Suite. It comprises of Reach for the Stars Bundle, (Reach for the Stars Stamps and Reach for the Stars Dies), Stargazing Designer series Paper and  Holographic Trio Specialty Paper.  these can be found in the Annual Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!® on page 86 and 87. 

This card is also a Faux Stair Step Card.  Mum, our daughter and I sat around the table recently making the first one together.  We copied the first card that was made by Stamped Treasures - Sherry Roth. We continued making a couple more in different colours.

Enjoy The Rhythm

Hi everyone, 

Do you have a drummer in the family?  Our son originally learnt the guitar as a child.  However, one school holidays he taught himself the drums so he could fill the spot in the church band. Another school holidays the keyboard was added to his repertoire.  Now he teachers music at school.  The saxophone, banjo and trumpet is now part of his repertoire. 

Enjoy The Rhythm Stamp set can be found in June - July Catalogue ©2023 Stampin‘ Up!®, page 72.  It is great that this stamp set includes other musical instruments. 

While the two cards below are very similar, I made the first one and felt it was a bit plain. So I created another and embossed the Poppy Red Cardstock.  It is amazing how much embossing can make a difference.

On The Farm Bundle

Hi everyone, 

 

This is a lovely time of year.  Christmas is over.  The new year has commenced. Kids on school holidays.  It is a lovely time together and create memories together.  Our son and his family were here this afternoon.  Mum and two boys made cards because they had birthday parties coming up.  It is lovely to see that they want to make their own cards.

This Piggy Birthday

Hi everyone,

This Little Piggy says…..  A lovely fun card.  This one certainly creates a chuckle for me.  Hopefully it will create a chuckle for the person who receives it.  The stamp set that I am using in these cards is called This Birthday Piggy.  It can be found in the Annual Catalogue 2022 Catalogue page 55 ©2022 Stampin' Up!®. This is such a fun stamp and takes me back to playing with little feet, whether they were our children’s feet or grandchildren’s.

Kite Delight

Hi everyone,

Isn’t this a great card for the kids or the big kids. I can remember having fun with kites when our kids are little.  Now our kids have kids of their own.  This stamp will come in handy.  This stamp also reminds of Mary Poppins Returns where they sing ‘Nowhere to go but up.’  When this song is sung, everyone is drifting up into the skies, very happy, holding onto balloons. Just my imagination what it would feel like holding onto a kite too.

Catching Butterflies

Hi everyone, 

At last, I have received another free item.  Catching Butterflies Stamp Set is available in the Sale-a-bration  Catalogue, page 6, ©2022 Stampin' Up!®  This catalogue is available in Australia until 16/3/2022.

This stamp is such a happy stamp.  It is lovely for little girls but also an adult, to brighten up their day.  I also used Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper which is found n the January to June Catalogue, page 49, ©2022 Stampin' Up!®  Below is the selection.  

Below is the happy little stamp. 

The top two cards have different butterflies?  These came from a retired stamp and punch that were cut out.  The bottom two cards have to butterflies from the stamp set.

Penguin Place Bundle

The Stampin Up July - December Catalogue ©2021 Stampin' Up!® is here.  This catalogue is full of Christmas stamps and dies.

Wild Cats Suite

Hi everyone, 

We are in Lock down here in Melbourne at the moment.   In past lock downs, I have skyped my 92 year old mum and we have stamped the afternoon away, making cards together.  It wasn’t the same as Mum sitting across the table but that wouldn’t happen very often as she lives in Adelaide while I live in Melbourne. 

However this lock down is different.  I have Mum sitting across the table stamping with me.  While skyping worked previously, there is nothing like the real thing. Mum is staying with us for a couple of months.  So while South Australia and Victoria are in lockdown, she at least has company during the day and evenings in this lock down.

Turtle Friends

Hi everyone, 

As I write this, we are in lockdown in Melbourne. Hopefully by the time this is published we will be out of lockdown and able to visit family and friends again. 

This card is for Master E. Turtles seem to be his thing.  His oldest brother Master N loved frogs. Master T,  his middle brother, loved dinosaurs. While Master E loves his dinosaurs and trucks, he has special love for turtles. So I am also collecting fabrics for a turtle quilt. The other two boys have their frogs and dinasour quilts.
