Patchwork is a craft that I love. I find that having a piece of fabric or needle and thread in my fingers seems to feed my soul. However late in my work life, I lost my mojo. While I have a number of quilt tops to quilt, I found that I could not face them. Recently I started working on another quilt top. Just sitting at the sewing machine sewing two pieces of fabric together helped me to find confidence again in the process.
This is one of those quilts that needed to be quilted. I prefer to quilt my own quilts. I like to complete the whole process. For me, a quilt is not about perfection, but about the love that is sewn into a completed quilt, mistakes and all.
This quilt was made for one of 4 boys. Now they are adults. These four quilts have been in the process for a number of years. Studying and working for a 10 years spell did not allow much thought. Anyway, the first quilt has been gifted and has gone to Perth. Only 3 more to gift.
