Hi everyone,
Mum is currently staying with us. Mum and I have attended several classes with Rachel Palmieri, my upline. Rachel’s blog is http://stampinpals.blogspot.com/ Mum’s 95th birthday was just this last week. Rachel made and sent this beautiful card below for Mum’s birthday. Go to Rachel’s site and she will tell you a bit more. You must agree with me though, this card is absolutely beautiful. She has chosen the colours well.
Well, I look at a card and try to work it out. This is where I used templates or Dave, my husband, calls his ‘jigs’. Dave is a woodworker and he creates jigs for practically anything. He has made numerous step stools, a tv table and numerous tissue boxes only to name a few things. Some of these items started with a jig.
Some of Dave’s thinking has washed off on to me after many years. Now I love making fun folds. I make a template with the measurements etc written on them using old cardstock and designer series paper. Another use for retired cardstock and designer series paper. Fantastic.
My mum also loves making cards. While she is here visiting, she copies me and creates her own template for use when she returns home.
Can you see that I remake the card and wrote the measurements inside the card. Therefore everything is place together and this template will not be sent to anyone by mistake.
If you are interested in the cutting and scoring details, see below.
So I started thinking about the designer series that I have that is current. I decided to use the Pretty Peacock cardstock with Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper. It think it is very nice. However, I cannot give this card to Mum for her 95th because she made one of her own. That is dilemma for another day.
Have you used Stampin Up products before. One of the reasons that I became a demonstrator/hobbyist was because I love the colour combos. Stampin Up provides cardstock, ribbon, stamp pad, and matching designer series paper and sometimes matching glitz to enhance the cards. If you are a bit pedantic with colour combinations Stampin Up is your friend. They certainly have my vote.
