Hi everyone,
Did everyone have a lovely Christmas? We put some much effort and energy into having a great day. I know I do.
I love Christmas. I love thinking about Christmas presents for everyone. Even though we have a Kris Kringle for the adults I still like to buy the adults something little. This year everyone got a funny pair of socks.
I love organising the food for our special day. Or at least I organise the roast while our daughter and daughter-in-law organise the sweets and nibbles. Our grandchildren open some of their presents at home. Heir parents bring the rest to our place. Such a lovely day.
This year we had Christmas on Boxing day, as it was our daughter’s family’s turn at the in-laws. Christmas day was a bit quieter this year. We spent lunch at our son’s place and dinner was at my sister-in-law’s. While we travelled from A to B, I didn’t need to cook. That was a true blessing.
Anyway another Christmas, another Gingerbread House. I have been making these since completing a course at Contact in Bundoora, when our daughter was little. 35 years later, I am still making them.
Over the years there has always been little kids present. Sometimes we have adopted some for a few hours. However this year our grandchildren were present. Mr 9 year old, Mr 7 year old, Mr 2 year and Miss 2 year old had a great time decorating the gingerbread house. They also had a great time breaking it on Christmas day.
We also had a young adult present this time, who is a bit OCD. Everyone sat down for the decorating. Miss Young Adult asked ‘okay, is there a plan.’ My response was, ‘no plan, just being together and having fun decorating the house.’ So one side is nice and patterned while the other is random but also very nice.
Enjoy the photos.
Happy New Year to you. I certainly hope that 2021 is better for all of us.
Blessings.
